Pictures is a song about betrayal. When you give your all to someone, when you would do anything for them at any time and then they leave. They throw you away with no reason, warning or explanation.

This song was written about a friendship that was intense and full of love yet ended suddenly and untimely, all the while breaking hearts. Sadly, it is likely we all will experience this feeling of heartache.

The one that feels like it will last forever, a heavy, dull, continuous sickness that sits in the bottom of your chest.
